October is Going to Be Great!

My usual breakfast consists of a Blue Monster and a Power Bar. It's a little sad really, but it's been that way for months. The Power Bar situation is a little dicey because most of these energy bars are laced with calcium, and it's not the kind of calcium that is going to be absorbed well by one's body. This is a serious problem for me because of my on-going battle with kidney stones. But I have found one that is low in fat and calcium, and doesn't taste too bad--and so it has become a staple of my diet.

I've taken to purchasing these items at the local Speedway because they not only consistently have both of them in stock, but they've now got me hooked on their Speedy Rewards Points program. This morning I stopped in and for the entire month of October, they are going to be selling four-packs of Monster for $6.49 (usually they are $2.29 each!). Furthermore, every four-pack purchase gets you 200 bonus Speedy Points! To top it off, the exact Power Bar I eat, the "Triple Threat" is being promoted with 250 bonus Speedy Points this month! I scored almost 900 Speedy Points this morning!*

So, I'll be buying a four-pack of Monster every day and by the end of the month, I'll have enough built up to take me right into the New Year! I've also noticed that a number of recent visitors to my office have been coveting my hand-crafted Blue Monster Tissue Dispenser.
